What does FACPM Mean?

When patients see FACPM after their podiatrists name, this means that he/she is a Fellow of the American College of Podiatric Medicine.

ACPM is a professional, fraternal society of podiatric physicians dedicated to providing educational content in the pursuit of excellence in podiatric medicine, biomechanics, and wound care as the foundation of a contemporary practice.

Fellows of ACPM are a unique group of podiatric physicians who are Board-Certified by the the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM).

Board certification provides credibility and assures patients and health professionals that a physician has achieved the highest level of achievement for the specialty.

Certification indicate that the DPM (doctor of podiatric medicine) has completed a thorough and extensive examination process and has been evaluated by his/her peers to have acquired an elevated level of knowledge in the areas of testing. Being ABPM-Certified showcases that a physician has taken necessary steps in education and training beyond the standard level of medical licensure.
