About ACPM

ACPM was founded in 1949 and incorporated in 1951 as the American College of Foot Orthopedists (ACFO). The name was changed in the early 1990s to the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine (ACFAOM) to better reflect the scope of interest of the membership. As of January 1, 2020 the organization has been updated to the American College of Podiatric Medicine. ACPM is dedicated to the education and advocacy of podiatric physicians specializing in podiatric medicine. With approximately 1,500 active members, ACPM is a Clinical Education Affiliate of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Due to the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, ACPM is limiting travel for all domestic and international meetings for employees, board members and committee members traveling for board business. The ACPM is closely monitoring the COVID-19 advisories from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will keep our website updated as necessary. We hope all stay safe during this challenging time. For more information, please read our Travel Guidance and COVID-19 Links.
